Our Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) program is offered every year in early spring, so that upon graduation our students are ready to work when the season begins and there is work available.
Through a new workforce development partnership with the Alberta Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association, WBF will recruit and train 16 women as heavy equipment operators.
With this 10-week program, you’ll receive safety certification, operating basics and seat time on four types of heavy equipment, fitness prep, tools and engines workshop, math review and blueprint reading, financial literacy, workplace culture preparation, and two weeks of work experience. Graduates receive job placement and retention support.
Applications will be prioritized in the order in which they are received.
Funding is available to qualified applicants.
