WBF Lafarge Ready-Mix Driver

Training Program -

March 4, 2013

This program is now full for 2013. Our Ready-Mix Driver Training program is offered every year in early spring, so that on graduation our students are ready to work when the season begins and there is work available. If you plan to attend our next Ready-Mix program in 2014, we recommend that you apply in August 2013 as this program fills up very quickly.

(244 hours over 6 weeks)

This program is designed to recruit, assess and prepare class 5 drivers to successfully obtain their class 1 or 3 license which allows drivers to operate trucks which transport goods or carry loads with three or more axles. Students will receive one-on-one ready-mix driver training. The program also covers safety training, workplace procedures, workplace culture preparation, fitness and mechanics of movement, customer service preparation, understanding the ready-mix industry, and GPS and Edmonton truck routes preparedness. The program involves both classroom and in-truck training instruction.

The objective of this program is to recruit, assess and prepare class 5 drivers to be safe and ready for work as Class 1 or 3 drivers in the ready-mix industry.

These jobs pay well and are in town. What’s not to love!
