Journeywoman Start Red Deer
Journeywoman Start (JWS) is Women Building Futures' flagship, pre-apprenticeship training program. We've had great success in training women for apprenticeships and future employment in Edmonton and we are now thrilled to be offering this program in Red Deer! Since 2001, this program has maintained a 90% employment rate.
Journeywoman Start Red Deer prepares women for a successful career path in the skilled trades and provides the jump start to an entry-level role in the construction and maintenance industry.
This program features classroom and hands-on skills development training that introduces you to five skilled trades that are recognized as apprenticeships in Alberta. This is a full time program, with classes running Monday – Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
The training for this 12-week, pre-apprentice program will be held at Red Deer College.
Apply today and live, train and work in your own community!

Academics are included in this program and students will also receive eight safety certifications and basic first aid training. Students will write the AIT exam while in the program.
